NU Public Interest Program

Building a Network of Engaged Citizens to Inspire Change

Recommenders

Thank you for taking the time to provide a recommendation for a candidate to the Northwestern University Public Interest Program (NUPIP). NUPIP places recent Northwestern graduates in yearlong paid fellowships at public interest organizations throughout the Chicago area. Fellows engage in challenging, meaningful work at their organizations, and participate in professional development, mentorship, and a community of peers.

Your feedback is critical in helping us assess the candidate’s suitability for the program and for specific placements, and ultimately, in helping prospective employers evaluate candidates for hire. Please offer your honest assessment of the candidate, including both strengths and areas for growth, in each of the areas below. You may respond to the short answer questions directly in the form below, or upload a letter that responds to these prompts.

Recommendations will not be shared with candidates. Recommendations will be shared with the selection committee to evaluate candidates for the program, and may be shared with host organizations as they evaluate candidates for hire.
